Unite Private Networks Announces Completion of Initial Fiber-to-the-Tower Sites in Iowa

When complete project will add nearly 700 route miles of fiber to existing footprint

Des Moines, IA (Jan 27, 2015) – Unite Private Networks (UPN) announced it has completed the initial phase of a nearly 700 mile fiber-optic network in Iowa. Construction was completed on the initial sites in the Des Moines metro on-time in December. The project is on track to be completed in fourth quarter 2015.

Late last year UPN announced construction had begun on the nearly 700 mile route that will create a diverse ring around the state, connecting all major metro areas in central and eastern Iowa including Des Moines, Ames, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Iowa City and Davenport.

“We are excited to add a network with such depth and diversity to the state,” said Jason W. Adkins, UPN Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “For the past 16 years, UPN has been providing high bandwidth services to customers located across 20 states, primarily in the central U.S., and we are looking forward to expanding our reach in Iowa.”
