Albuquerque, New Mexico (Thursday, July 19) – Unite Private Networks (UPN), a leading provider of high-capacity, fiber-based communication networks, announced today a new office location in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The company previously announced its entrance into the market earlier this year through the acquisition of existing Level 3 fiber assets, and the construction of the Albuquerque Public School (APS) network. “We are honored to call Albuquerque home,” said Eloy De La O, Area Sales Vice President at Unite Private Networks. “UPN has rigorous industry-leading standards and we’ve already begun upgrading the existing fiber network to meet those standards. In addition to planned new construction, the infrastructure will provide ubiquitous coverage across the entire Albuquerque market, giving business customers a new choice in fiber providers. We look forward to providing businesses access to the suite of UPN products, including Ethernet, wavelength services, Internet, voice, and dark fiber.”
“We are excited to welcome Unite Private Networks to Albuquerque. UPN’s next-generation fiber-optic infrastructure will provide essential high-speed connectivity to our area businesses. They will also be creating over 20 jobs right here in Albuquerque, in addition to the local construction jobs that were created building its network. The investment Unite Private Networks is making in the community is significant and will continue to bring economic opportunities to our city,” stated Mayor Tim Keller.
With these initial expenditures – the construction of APS’s network and the Level 3 fiber acquisition – UPN will invest nearly $50 million into expanding and upgrading the critical UPN network fiber communications infrastructure in Albuquerque. The local office will consist of 23 full-time employees and create approximately 100 construction jobs supporting the APS network build.
“We are excited to welcome Unite Private Networks to Albuquerque, where the company is creating good jobs for residents and helping to grow the technology sector in our state,” said Annemarie Henton, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for Albuquerque Economic Development, Inc. “We appreciate the company’s commitment to being an employer of choice, and we look forward to UPN’s success here.”
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at Hotel Chaco on Thursday, July 19 at 4:30 p.m. The new office will be located at 3830 Singer Blvd NE, Ste. 2000, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
