Kansas City, MO (April 26, 2011) – Unite Private Networks (UPN) announced today its agreement to provide data services over a fiber optic Wide Area Network (WAN) for Elyria City and Perrysburg Schools in Ohio. Both of the districts signed 10 year agreements.

“These wins continue UPN’s expansion eastward and provide significant momentum for us in the state of Ohio”, said Rob Oyler, Chief Marketing Officer for UPN. “The education market continues to demand levels of bandwidth and network design they cannot find with the incumbent providers.”

UPN provides high-bandwidth, fiber-based communications networks to schools, government, carriers, data centers, hospitals and enterprise business customers. UPN currently has customers located in 19 states throughout the U.S.

“We are excited about implementing UPN’s leased private fiber solution because it allows us to increase bandwidth with no additional monthly charges. This will allow us to consolidate our data centers and continue to grow our network application offerings including voice and digital video distribution without fear of running out of bandwidth,” said Brian Kokai, Technology Director at Elyria Schools.

“With shrinking budgets and escalating bandwidth needs, schools are being forced to consider long term solutions to the problem”, said Judy Gallagher-Cosgrove, VP of Business Development at UPN. “Bandwidth is now the 3rd utility behind power and water. Our customers realize a UPN provided WAN is the answer to both of their concerns for the long term.”
