“The Newman Center – St. Thomas Aquinas Church is extremely pleased and appreciative of our partnership with Unite Private Networks. Over the past year, the Newman Center converted its phone service and increased its internet bandwidth with UPN. Throughout the process, UPN’s level of proactive, customer-focused service made our transition seamless and stress-free.

Each February the Newman Center hosts its annual phone-a-thon campaign which features fourty student volunteers calling our benefactors. Unite Private Networks provided us with incredible phone service throughout. The clear, reliable service was terrific – the backbone to one of our most successful phone-a-thons yet! We were thrilled.

And then the COVID-19 pandemic struck.

All of the Newman Center’s liturgies, student events, and public gatherings were abruptly cancelled. Almost immediately, UPN stepped up – once again – by rapidly deploying increased internet bandwidth, enabling our ministries to become 100% digital. Through their assistance, visitors could live stream Masses, Holy hours, and pastoral messages. Endless conference calls ran without a glitch. We even live-streamed a number of previously scheduled weddings. UPN’s Internet service kept our Virtual Newman running smoothly throughout.

Perhaps clear phone calls and uninterrupted streaming are relatively low priorities. A few months ago they were for me. That was until the Newman Center’s phone-a-thon -supported by UPN- was our last meaningful fundraising event before everyone was quarantined. That was until our primary means to minister to thousands of students, alumni and benefactors became live streaming. That was until the only way a bride’s parents could watch their daughter’s wedding, due to COVID-19 concerns, was by streaming and providing access to friends and family.
